Billing & Payment Policy
Advance Ambulance’s in-house Patient Accounts Department files insurance claims for all of our transports. Advance files claims with:
- Insurance Carriers
- Medicare
- Medicaid
- Veteran’s Administration
- Worker’s Compensation
- Liability Insurance
Medicare and Medicaid, along with most commercial insurance and employer group plans cover ambulance transportation that is medically necessary, although plans may vary in terms and in the type of transportation covered.
Insurance information and identification for the patient should be provided at the time of service to expedite claim processing. Please contact our Patient Accounts Department at 708.995.1187 as soon as possible if the patient or family member is unable to do so initially.
Advance Ambulance’s staff works closely with you, your family, case managers and insurance carrier to obtain prior authorization, benefits and coverage for all Advance Ambulance transports.
Patients who do not have an insurance policy that covers medical transportation will receive an invoice that includes an itemized list of charges for the services provided. Payment is required within thirty (30) days of receipt of the invoice.
Advance Ambulance also makes payment arrangements for patients without insurance or who have co-pay/deductibles remaining after their insurance carrier has processed the claim.
